You will practice yoga and meditation each day (meditations will be mostly guided, so don't worry if you don't have a meditation practice already). This weekend also includes great food, knowledgable instructors, hiking out the back door, fire ceremony, and a bonfire dance party under the full moon. This holiday is open to all, regardless of yoga experience. Though you will have a schedule, you are encouraged to take some time away from the group whenever needed, to find a quiet corner to read, journal, meditate, etc. as you see fit. Yin Yoga Training
Yin Yoga: A Continuing Education Intensive With Shelby Lafrinere, E-RYT 500
Yin Yoga is a slow, quiet, and grounded practice that supports the nervous systems while safely stressing the connective tissue of the body (tendons, ligaments, joints/bones, and fascia). It builds increased mindfulness, patience, and acceptance while contributing to healthy joints, increased flexibility, and decreased pain and stiffness from overuse and injury. It is an essential component of a balanced asana practice, and a wonderful tool for optimum mobility.
Open to both Yoga Teachers AND students, this program will draw you deeper into the practice of Yin Yoga in a way that is safe, accessible, and purposeful. You will learn techniques to practice and instruct others through intelligent sequencing for the entire body including the feet, hands, and skull.
Created by Shelby Lafrinere, student of world renowned Yin Yoga teacher Paul Grilley, this curriculum empowers the practitioner while building a thorough foundation for teachers wishing to add or expand upon their Yin Yoga class offerings.
You will gain: -Insight into the practice and history of Yin Yoga -Detailed instruction on 13 core poses and up to 27 additional modifications and counter poses -Additional techniques for the fascia of the hands, feet, and skull -Knowledge of Fascia Anatomy -Greater understanding of chronic pain -Refinement in the art of Yin sequencing and teaching methodology

Short Description: When was the last time you were truly in community? Eating, sleeping, talking, exercising together in the middle of a beautiful forest. It creates a space for honesty, acceptance, support and laughter. We have important work to do. It's time to get clear on how we want to love and be loved, time to create the love we want to change our world and our lives for the better. Sounds lofty, doesn't it? It is. But one small change in perspective or action can have far-reaching effects. And it's so much easier to create change in community than on your own. It won't all be lofty goals and deep thinking, though. We'll play, too. We'll eat well, play games, hike and sleep soundly. We'll have a good time, create lasting friendships and go home feeling excited and rejuvenated.
More Details: Join us for a weekend in nature to focus on Intentional Loving. Whether you're taking time to be with yourself, in partnerhsip of some kind or focusing on family or friendship, this retreat is meant for you.
A weekend retreat including yoga, hiking, and lessons about how to use your yoga practice to let go of blocks and create honest and lasting love of all kinds. All inclusive including shared accommodation in beautiful modern cabin and gourmet plant-based meals.

Acting on Your Intuition
What's different? This is not a retreat about forgetting your troubles, though we will take plenty of time to relax and have fun. It is about embracing the entirety of who you are and learning tools to make each day, and each relationship, better in order to live a more fulfilling and connected life. There will be some uncomfortable moments, which will hopefully lead to moments of great integration, clarity and freedom. We will also laugh at ourselves and with each other, celebrate our successes and how much we've learned already, eat some awesome food and enjoy our bodies through yoga and hiking.
Food: Six wonderful plant-based meals and snacks will be provided. There will be plenty of organic morsels to go around, nobody will go hungry. You'll be energized and satisfied! Do you have an unusual dietary restriction or preference? Let us know, we can almost definitely accommodate, and will do so happily.
Hosted by Kit Maloney and Amanda Russcol.

This Mala Mantra Workshop is all about finding your voice and speaking your truth in the form of song. There will be a 60 minute vinyasa style class lead by Madelyn, which will be accompanied by the beautiful musical stylings of ukulele player Molly Jo Stanley. We will learn a traditional mantra and sing it at the beginning and end of the class. We will also be incorporating mala beads- by holding them through our practice and infusing them with all the light and positive energy we cultivate throughout the flow. If you love your borrowed mala you will even have the chance to purchase it after class! Come join us and find the ability to not only speak your truth, but to also sing it ♥
$10 for members, $15 for non-members
Yoga Therapy: Low Back and Hips
Each workshop qualifies for 2 CEUs with the Yoga Alliance
These workshops are laboratories for compassionate exploration. Through lecture, demonstration and practice, we will uncover pathways to greater physical and/or emotional freedom and less pain. Setting the foundation for our practice, we will look at the basic anatomy and alignment of the body, including proper joint mobilization, appropriate muscle action for healthy movement patterns, as well as optimal organ and gland function. Then, fine tune your alignment within common poses and practices while learning simple yet effective tools for relieving pain in the moment, including any discomfort caused by a more active asana practice, as well as tools to safely begin practicing again after injury and absence.
Open to All levels and physical abilities, modifications will be provided. Learning objectives can be applied to any style of asana practice, exercise, and general life functions.
September 16: Low Back and Hips
October 21: Stress and Anxiety Relief, Part 2: Deep Practice of Guided Meditation, Pranayama and Asana/Poses
November 18: Asana Lab - Bring a few poses you have questions about - those poses you hate, or love, or want to modify for your body. We'll break them down as a group and highlight basic anatomy/benefits/contraindications/modifications so we can deepen our understandings of the poses. sign up here.
Our session begins with an all-levels, no experience necessary Vinyasa Flow. Then, your sonic nap with Connie will begin as she guides you in meditation, then we will settle into completely supported Savasana to receive the sound bath and direct placement of the bowls on the body. This 5000 year-old therapy profoundly affects the nervous system, down to the cellular level. Divine vibrations of Tibetan Singing bowls enables you to enter a deep, alpha-theta brainwave state, in which healing is stimulated at the cellular level. Resonating with the eternal sound of the planet- AUM- Tibetan singing bowls provide meditative, therapeutic & transformational healing.
We are offering a Reiki Training for Levels 1 and 2. In this training, you will learn about the history and practice of Reiki, but more than anything, you'll learn how to connect with your own unique ability to heal yourself and others through energy work.
Level 1 will teach you to heal yourself, and Level 2 will teach you how to start working on others.
Amanda Russcol I studied Reiki in India with Yogi Sivadas. His teachings were not typical of other Reiki programs due to his more rational mindset. I never connected with the idea that someone else could place their hands on me and "give" me some power, so after getting to know Sivadas, I wanted to see how he taught Reiki. His teachings really worked for me, and (ironically) helped me to connect to my intuitive abilities better than anything else I've tried. I want to share his methods and teachings with others who want to explore their own Healer abilities.
I have been practicing Reiki for 5 years, and am constantly stunned and awed by the practice and how it evolves. I often have trouble believing some of the experiences this practice has brought to my life, and I am so grateful to have found it.
Level 1 will be held Friday, August 19 from 6-9 and Sunday, August 21 from 1:30-4:30.
Level 2 will be held Friday, September 30 from 6-9 and Sunday, October 2 from 1:30-4:30.
Level 3 dates have not been set yet, but will be coming. :)
There will be practice days and times (not mandatory) in addition, to allow students a chance to practice on themselves and others.
The investment for these events is $175 for one or $325 for both.
We'll make as many sandwiches as we can, then bring them to the Mission and hand them out. Come for some or for all of the event - I bet you can make a ton of sandwiches in 20 minutes!
This program is for anyone who has taken at least a 200 hour teacher training but does not feel fully prepared to teach to their full potential. Most programs can't offer enough information in just 200 hours. In this Apprenticeship, you will have an opportunity to teach your own class each week to build your confidence as a teacher. You will learn:
-functional anatomy and biomechanics (how your body carries loads, not just the names of the muscles and bones!) -how to sequence interesting and safe classes -how to modify for different bodies and injuries -meditation and yogic philosophy -how to bring dharma into your classes -different yogic traditions and how they evolved -breathwork (beyond basic pranayama) -the basics of yoga therapy -how to use the energetic systems of the body to enhance your classes -how to teach a private session -nutrition and the yogic diet -how to find and share your own unique gifts as a yoga teacher
The program will take approximately 6 months to complete and the investment is $600. Enrollment includes a monthly unlimited membership to Yoga High for the duration of the program. The class will be capped at 6-8 students to ensure that everyone gets plenty of one-on-one attention and feedback.
Besides teaching your own class each week, we will meet for Accelerator classes every Sunday from 10-12 in which we will cover the topics outlined above.
