CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Flow - Flow is a style of yoga in which one pose flows into the next, meaning that while you will hold poses, you will not stop to move into a new pose. This is the most popular style of yoga in Denver, and appropriate for all levels.
Sivananda - This style is very traditional and very meditative. Developed by a doctor in India in the 1930s, but based upon a tradition that is thousands of years old. It is a form of Hatha yoga, meaning that there is a pause between each pose, and in Sivananda, there is a rest between many of the poses. It is a challenging practice, but can be modified easily. Sivananda is one of the most popular styles of yoga worldwide, but is almost nonexistent in Denver. Appropriate for all levels.
Ashtanga - Another traditional style, our ashtanga is gentler than what you might find elsewhere, meaning that we cut out a lot of the floating forward and back and spend more time in each pose. We do some sun salutations, lots of standing and balance poses, some stretching and inversions. This is a great class for building strength, appropriate for all levels.
Acroyoga - Acroyoga is a partner or group-based class (you don't need to bring a partner). It's about community, facing your fears with a lot of support, building strength and confidence, and learning how to better support others. We have a strong emphasis on spotting and safety as well as building good habits in your body and partnership. This is a beginner/intermediate class, probably not right for advanced acroyogis.
Yin - Yin (passive), is the counterpart to Yang (active), and it is all about surrender. Using your body weight and gravity, you will stretch deeply through your muscles and connective tissues. This is a quiet, gentle class, but for most it is very challenging because of the deep stretching. It can also be the most rewarding, though, because of the incredible relief that come from stretching tight muscles and bringing blood flow back to areas that have been neglected. If you have tight hips, hamstrings, or shoulders, this is a great class for you. Appropriate for all levels.
Vin-Yin-Nidra starts with 30 minutes of flow, then 30 minutes of yin (deep stretching) and ends with Yoga Nidra, a deep, guided relaxation.
Vin-Yin is a mix of flow and deep stretching. A great balanced practice for all levels.
Restorative is focused on deep relaxation with just a touch of stretching. We use all kinds of props, including sandbags, eye pillows, bolsters, blankets straps and blocks. Feel completely supported as your body releases and melts into the comfortable poses. Find a focus on release, meditation or breath, or you might even catch some Z's...
Aromatherapy Naptime - Yeah, this is Yoga Nida (guided relaxation) with pure essential oils and organic eye pillows and blankets. Just right for getting you rested before your weekend begins.
Community of Color is a class for any student who identifies as a POC (Person of Color). Come and practice in our community of color - a community that traditionally has not found their place in the Yoga Studio. We hope to change that and make you feel wanted, welcome and comfortable in ALL of our classes. This class is not for white people.
Please call or email us if you have any questions about any of our classes.
